Pre-existing condition waivers typically require insurance purchase within 14 days of initial trip deposit—miss that window and chronic conditions are excluded from claims. “16.1 It is a condition of your participation in the Expedition (including any Adventure Options and/or any Extension Activity) that you shall have comprehensive medical insurance in place which is sufficient to cover all medical risks and exposure, including emergency medical coverage. You may be required to provide proof of this insurance to Quark at any time and should carry such insurance documentation with you during the Expedition (and any applicable Extension Activity). 16.2 In case of a medical problem arising during the Expedition ... which results in costs for evacuation, use of aircraft or repatriation, the responsibility for payment of these costs belongs solely to the passenger. 16.3 In addition to the medical insurance requirement set out in section 16.1, Quark strongly recommends that you, and all other passengers in your group, purchase comprehensive travel protection cover for the duration of the Expedition ... Such travel protection should cover, as a minimum, cancellation insurance, trip delay, baggage cover and repatriation.
